Corona Virus Updates
The Pandemic of Covid 19 or corona virus has caused massive changes to the way we do things in all parts of our lives and it is the same here in our practice.
If you need more information about the COVID-19 pandemic please go to the following link https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus
We have made some changes ourselves and some have been directives from the government, but all have been made with the aim of protecting the health and well-being of our patients and staff.
We would ask all patients to phone us to book an appointment. This will allow our staff to ask you some questions to determine the best course of action. It may be that you don’t need to see the doctor at this stage but that referral for a test or collection of a prescription may be best.
There is a need to greatly reduce the number of people in our waiting room which is an obvious way of reducing person to person spread. When you arrive you may be asked to wait in your car or to enter via a different entrance. Please come on your own if possible and if you need a driver please get them to wait in the car. For young children please limit the accompanying adult to one person.
In some cases the front door may be locked to protect those inside but you will be able to talk with a staff member through the window or on your phone from the car if you prefer.
For your protection and ours you may be given a mask to wear and the medical clinic staff may be wearing protective clothing.
Please keep your hands to yourselves and avoid touching surfaces if possible.
Please be patient with us. We are very busy with trying to keep informed about this outbreak and how best to deal with it. As you can imagine the situation is changing rapidly and we are having to adapt as well as provide the best health care we can.
Please be assured that at all times we are trying to maintain the best standards possible to ensure the health and well-being of everyone connected with this practice.
